Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper optional
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 lbs. chicken wings

Instructions

  • Begin by separating the drumette, flat, and tip of the chicken wings using a sharp knife. Discard the tips, or set them aside for future use in a chicken stock.
  • Coat the wings evenly with salt, garlic powder, and ground cayenne pepper if you're using it. Allow the seasoned wings to sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, pan-fry the wings for about 3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  • Add the water to the pan, cover with a lid, and allow the steam to fully circulate. Let the wings cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the wings to a greased baking sheet, arranging them in a single layer. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until they achieve a crispy texture.
  • Once done, remove the wings from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
  • Serve the baked chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
